As I type it is 50 degrees and rainy out. It is also my birthday. The biggest tragedy of this day is that I will soon have to part from my pajamas, put on a bra and attend a graduation party for my cousin's kid. The only thing not making me drop to my knees and rend my garments in that I'll be wearing the glorious blue Memphis sweatshirt of heavenly comfort. It is the small things you start to take pleasure in when you get as old as me.
For my birthday I'm getting an iPhone to go with the Series Finale of Dawson's Creek, brain cell, and the Blender I got yesterday at Pepper's Birthday BBQ which I told Hotrod I wouldn't have any fun at, but instead had a lot of fun at. I also got a journal that I've already started to put to good use since I've decided I am going to write each night after reading. So far I've done it an entire night in a row. We'll see how long this lasts. I give it until tonight.
In other news, I watched this video 66 times in a row today. Because I am a dork and it is my birthday.
Because I am a woman of honor and take great pride in meeting my obligations, I was not allowed to tout my birthday yesterday as I usually would. I love my birthday. Perhaps it's because I am perpetually 8 years old where my birthday is concerned. You see, my youngest sister Kelli was born on my 8th birthday. I remember telling my mom that if she gave birth to a boy I'd never speak to her again.
She takes after me and loves her birthday as much as I do. If they gave out Nobel Prizes for Birthday Pimping, Kelli and I would win hands down. People are always amazed by how great my birthdays are, and I always tell them that I work hard to make them that way. As Ericka would tell you, it's all about setting expectations, and I set the expectation that I want June 6th to rock.
This year did not disappoint.
I've known Pepper Blue for about eight years now. We were friends before we discovered that she had the grave misfortune of being born the day before my birthday. I will not regale you with the tales of her bad birthdays, I will leave that to her. Instead I will share with you my very favorite Pepper Blue quip of all time which (according to iwilldare.com occurred on July 9, 2002):
“I just don’t understand why someone would want to rub strangers for a living," I said.
“C’mon she’s from like the hippie family Robinson. They think massage
therapy is a good career choice along with aromatherapy and tarot card
reading,” Pepper Blue said.
Happy Birthday!
You know what the best part of birthday week is? Friends who remember that your favorite thing on earth is Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake. I'm in a cheesecake haze right now, and it's good.
Pepper Blue and Miss Maddy stopped by with a birthday gift. It is just about the coolest thing ever. EVER! I kind of want to spend all night gazing at it, it's that cool.

Happy Birthday Ericka! If I were thinking, I'd have gotten this framed for your birthday. But I wasn't thinking. You'll just have to settle for the other presents.
