The invitee list would be prestigious and designed to provide the maximum amount of amusement for the attendees. They would include:

Paul Westerberg, of course. He would provide after dinner music because, including a song he spontaneously composed on his dinner napkin lauding my superior entertaining abilities and stunning beauty.

Of course, this would be a duet with our next dinner guest, the lovely. . .

Liz Phair. Liz will attend because every good dinner party should be rife with sexual tension, and for the ladies I've invited . . .

John Cusack. Yum. Johnny here strikes me as both musically-intelligent and literate, so he'd totally dig . . .

 

Ms. Mary Gaitskill. Not only is she one of my favorite writers of all time, she's the woman responsbile for the short story the movie "Secretary" was based on, and I think she and Liz would have a lot to discuss. And because I don't want to be the only non-celeb at the party, I'd invite. . .

Daby, because well, you like to share this kind of experience with those who are less fortunate.

And because a good dinner party needs some damn good food, I've called in a few favors and gotten this trio of choice bits to cook us up some good grub:
